That being said, we’re hoping that you enjoy the direction we are taking with the site and humbly ask you to consider “Buying us a coffee.” Our site, because of the traffic we see every Halloween, costs quite a bit each year…lol…and don’t even get us started on how much our rescue kitties cost! We knew that stopping the ad revenue completely would hit us pretty hard…but we feel that this was the right decision to make for us and our fellow carvers. So…we switched gears and wiped out ads altogether. We love Halloween, and we want families to have fun while browsing through our pumpkin carving patterns…and not deal with the aggravation of of scrolling, clicking, and dodging ads at every turn. We just couldn’t, in all good conscience, continue to be a part of that environment. However, we became increasingly uncomfortable with the way companies track people as they browse the Internet, and became even more frustrated with being inundated with ads. We used the ad revenue to pay for the website’s overhead and to help take care of our rescue kitties (we love our little ones). Our site generates a lot of traffic during the Fall season, so for the past few years we jumped on the advertising bandwagon…and truthfully, ads generated a nice little side income. It’s our hope that you will find the perfect Halloween design to help you create a pumpkin carving masterpiece!

We set up a recovery room in our laundry room, gave each baby an initial bath, dried them, and they are now resting/recovering. They were wet, freezing, malnourished, need eye-flee-worm treatments, and were completely covered in feces. Normally I wouldn’t ask this late in the evening, but we just received this litter of baby kittens. We are taking these little ones in for treatment tomorrow. Cut along the dotted line using a serrated or paring knife to create your spooky masterpiece! Once you're finished carving, place a candle (or several, depending upon size) inside, and put your jack-o'-lantern out on your porch for everyone to see and admire!įree Pumpkin Carving Stencils to Download When you remove the printed template, you will see a line of dots showing where the template has been transferred onto your pumpkin. Use a toothpick or sharp pointed tool to push through the paper onto the pumpkin's surface along the lines of the template. Tape your chosen printed template onto the outside of your pumpkin. If the flesh of the pumpkin is really thick, you can scrape a spoon around the inside of the pumpkin to thin out the flesh before you carve. Now it's time to remove the pulp and seeds (which my children call the "guts"!) of the pumpkin. It should be big enough that your hand will fit through easily. Start by cutting a circle around the stem of the pumpkin using a serrated knife, and remove this piece.

A serrated knife, large spoon, a pointy tool like a toothpick, and a sharp paring knife are all that you need, plus a big bowl to put all the pumpkin goop! You can buy a pumpkin carving kit with a mini saw and other tools to help you carve your design, or simply use what you have in your kitchen drawer.
