It may be difficult to remember that these outbreaks of violence with Gaza are built into the policies put forth by successive Israeli governments. How does one decide what constitutes the “beginning?” After all, this has become routine - a kind of natural phenomenon. Or perhaps it all began right at the end of the previous onslaught, last August. Israelis will fail to remember because the story actually began a week earlier, with the death of Palestinian political prisoner Khader Adnan, who died while on hunger strike, and after a bout of rocket fire into Israel from Gaza, which wounded a foreign worker. Israelis won’t remember that the first aerial attack of what they called “Operation Shield and Arrow,” which took place two weeks ago and killed three Palestinian men who were presented to the Israeli public as senior members of Islamic Jihad - as well as their children, wives, and neighbors (known in Israeli parlance as “collateral damage”) - set off a spiral of violence that would only grow wider as the days wore on.

The latest war on Gaza - five days of Israeli airstrikes that killed 33 Palestinians, Islamic Jihad leaders and civilians alike, and rockets that killed an Israeli civilian and a Palestinian worker in Israel - was just the most recent purification ceremony, a bloody seasonal ritual of violence, where ministers, officers, and Knesset members across the Zionist political spectrum mutter sacred mantras about security necessities and unite in their disregard for Palestinian life. Anylogic conference free#
The AnyLogic Conference is a fantastic FREE event held each year.

The presentation will be useful to all those with an interest in digital twins, dynamic situations management, and simulation and healthcare.

We look forward to being able to showcase this highly important and exciting project to the simulation community at The AnyLogic Conference. New model features, such as visualising patient journeys, are being developed and will be discussed during the presentation. The model will continue to be used as a digital twin decision support tool for the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Anylogic conference software#
The simulation model was created in AnyLogic software because of its ability for modelling the physical complexity of environments such as a hospital. With the level of detail captured and output by the model, it is possible for analysts to understand current situations, optimise resources, test what-ifs, and better prepare contingencies. Working as a digital twin of the patient journey, the model accounts for the various departments and specialities of the hospitals considered in the project, as well as the characteristics of patients.

This presentation will describe a high-value large-scale National Health Service (NHS) hospital simulation model to support the improvement of patient care at the individual level. Their presentation is titled: “ NHS Hospital Digital Twin for Better Resourcing and Care in Dynamic Situations”. Decision Lab’s Senior Consultant, Peter Riley, who leads the simulation work in the company, will be presenting at The AnyLogic Conference 2022 together with a data science expert from our client on the work, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
